More Sayings

I've always enjoyed those sayings from our grandparents... some strange, funny and wonderful things.  You heard your grandparents say them....then your parents...now perhaps you are saying them. I've kept a log of these sayings....as I hear one, I've asked people about it...."what was that you just said?" "where did it come from?" "who did you hear it from?" "tell me more..." It usually went back to a grandma or grandpa and has been passed through the generations. I find them fascinating and, sadly, fading from our language. It is somewhat about the language but also about the people, and the family stories, the memories. I thought the internet was a great way to gather these quips from different types of people from around the country. Perhaps someday I'll put together a book but until then, let's see where this world wide web takes us on this big blue marble.

Let's not lose the past.    Let's gather them and remember them before they slip away.....

Send me your grandma's, grandpa's, aunt's, uncle's, etc. saying and I will post it to this site.  Include their name, city and state.  Include your name, if you like, and what you called them (example:  Jane Davis, Anytown, IN, Susan's Granny)  If you don't wish to include last names then drop the last name or just use the initial of the last name.

I will post what information I can.  Information may change as the site changes and grows.  The site content is at my discretion.  I hope to one day publish a book with this information.  I will keep your emails.  I do not know what information is required for me to publish.  It is a dream.  We will see where this takes us.  If there's enough information and interest we will go from there.  Tell me what you think when you send me your sayings.
